Monday morning’s Floyd County power outage count: 292 customers.
Appalachian Power Company officials say the number of electrical customers without power in the county is below 300 and the company is hoping to restore power fully locally by midnight Monday.
The outages, down to 3.2 percent of the customer base in Floyd County, is far below the total that once included more than half the area’s total of electrical users.
Throughout Virginia, the total number of customers without power stood at 9,931 — less than one tenth a total that included more than 100,000 at the height of the electrical outages following last Thursday’s onslaught of heavy snow that dumped as much as a foot on some areas.
Hoping power is restored to the remaining customers who have been in the dark for the past four days.
