This is why I raise eyebrows with the content of some of these blogs because people really believe the Floyd blogs represent the county.
I haven’t seen that view in years. Wow! I can’t wait to get back! Love that photo!
always always beautiful sk
Fred… I am so glad they found you. I couldn’t think of a better person to talk to anyone about Floyd. I have nothing but the highest regards for you. I was just joking in context to the caption under the photo and the write up about music in Floyd. When my eye first went to the photo I expected to see Woody Crenshaw….which would have been the obvious. But it wasn’t the obvious, which hit my stupid teeny tiny funny bone.
I did not have a negative thought in my head and I hope no offense was taken. I think the world of you and just made a joke but didn’t intend to offend. I hope none was taken.
These two young men also have footage on Doug, and I have a few shots in my camera of that taping, soon to the blog.
They found me via the blog, we talked, I connected them with some Jamboree contacts; they were seeing Mac Traynham and Scott Perry this morning, Woody and others last night at the store.
Their goal from the weekend is for a short multimedia presentation that will eventually be on the Smithsonian webpage–if they have usable footage.
Yeah boy…if you want to know about the Floyd music scene or the Jamboree….definitely interview Fred First…ha ha…just joking. I love Fred….but it was a little funny that I couldn’t resist.
And by the way…I sure hope someone points them to the Sun Music Hall which has the Farewell Drifters tonight…a good ole young bluegrass band from Nashville.
