Jammin’ on a Sunday afternoon in Floyd
The Bluegrass Jam Session is a fixture on Sunday afternoons at the Floyd County Store. It was threatened last year because of some internal conflicts but is back in force in front of appreciative crowds at the center of bluegrass in the area.
Music is such a basic part of Floyd’s culture and jam sessions are a favorite for both participants and audience, just as the groups that congregate on the streets on Friday nights during the spring, summer and fall months are a regular.
With so much talent and love of music in the area, some of the best shows are free ones, performed by those who love playing and singing.
It is all part of the unique nature of the county we call home and love so much and it eliminates the need to even think about living anywhere else.
Be sure to drop by and enjoy the music.
