Cowardly cretins

A cowardly cretin (or cretins) vandalized Floyd's new public restroom this week, removing a urinal from the wall and allowing hundreds of gallons of water to spill out onto the floor and flow out of the building.
It was the kind of despicable act that makes your blood boil. Whether it was the act of someone with a philosophical difference with the changes that are coming to our town or just a mindless vandal who inflicts damage for the hell of it is less important than the viciousness of the act itself -- a wanton destruction of public property that brings disgrace upon our town and raises questions about the character of our community.
A sad day for Floyd.
Philosophical Differences?
I've never heard of anyone expressing their philosophical beliefs by vandalizing a urinal. This was clearly the work of an idiot with no regard for anything or anyone other than himself.

Video surveillance might help catch such cretins.
Camera?
Yeah, that's a good idea let's put a camera in the bathroom!
What ever happened to the design concept of preparing for morons that tear things up and installing fixtures that resist vandalism?
It's not easy, if it were easy anyone ...
So who's going to monitor this camera anyway??
Monitoring
Hmm, I can think of a few fellows around town who would probably jump at the opportunity to monitor a bathroom cam...might keep them too busy to hit on the local cashiers when they're trying to work.
The video camera would not have to film activities inside the restroom, but could film those entering and leaving, which would at least give a time frame and those using the facilities should something like this occur again. Might even be a deterrent at some level.
But on another level...someone from the Country Store saw the overflowing water and tried to contact someone locally about the problem. It was about 3 pm on a Sunday when they were told by a passerby about it, and there is nothing on the building indicating whom to call should there be a problem with the facilities. That is something that should be addressed by the town leadership.

Ya'll are acting like you didn't expect this to happen. Anywhere that you have youth who have grown up in todays society of coddling, and have no idea what the cost of anything is because mommy and daddy always buy them what they want, then this is going to happen. And happen often. Its a surprise that the generation Y kids didn't decide what color to paint it for you. Wait thats probably next. I wonder what color spray paint they choose?
I hope they don't mess with it anymore than they have, but I don't hold my breath. Whoever gets caught should be caned on the court house steps.

Despite the ignorant ones against the microbrewery... we don't even have a brewery here in Floyd and people are already corrupted. haha
