A title shot for the Buffaloes

UPDATE: Because of the weather, the district championship game scheduled for tonight is postponed until 1 p.m. Saturday.

Floyd County High School’s varsity football team goes for a district championship title Saturday in what is expected to be a tough game in bitter cold here in Floyd.

Also at stake is the team’s undefeated season. At 11-0, the scrappy Buffaloes have put together a brilliant but sometimes heart-stopping season. More than once they have come from behind to win in the closing seconds or in overtime. More than once they have edged opponents by one point.

Win or lose, it’s been a great season for the team and they deserve a full grandstand tonight as they go for a title shot and a berth in the state tournament in Salem.

Is any radio station broadcasting the game tonight such that out-of-towners might be able to listen to the game via the internet? We had planned to attend the game but the weather forecast stopped us.
