Poling firm Rasmussen Reports released a new survey Tuesday that has Virginia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe leading Republican contender Ken Cuccinelli by 17 points — the largest margin yet in the race that is two weeks away.

The poll shows McAuliffe with 50 percent of the vote and Cuccinelli well behind with 33 percent.

The poll of 1,000 likely voters was conducted Sunday after former First Lady and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton campaigned in the Old Dominion for McAuliffe, who was her husband’s top fundraiser during his presidency.
