Blue Ridge Standard Time
Dave Perry, — a friend, cinematographer and fellow motorcycle rider in Roanoke — shot and edited this spot for the Blue Ridge Standard Time ad campaign and web site and the campaign is up and running on TV
I’ve worked with Dave from time to time on one of his film projects. As a cinematographer, he is far more talented than me on creative projects like this. I’m a run-and-gun documentary shooter. He’s more of an artist.
He started his own production company in 2012 and has won many awards along the way.
A few years ago, while working at Carter Media, Dave edited a project for Round the Mountain that include footage of mine of artists in Floyd County. We didn’t know each other at the time but met later through the Roanoke Valley Harley Owners Group.
While at Carter he talked me into appearing in a commercial for Brambleton Deli in Roanoke as “an old, grizzled bilker.”
It’s a pleasure knowing and working with him and productions like this one for Blue Ridge Standard Time showcase why his is always busy and in demand.
Long-time newspaperman, photographer and videographer who still shoots photos and covers government and courts for a newspaper, shoots video for TV and documentary use and owns web sites like Blue Ridge Muse, Capitol Hill Blue and American Newsreel.
