Brooke’s last show with Three Shades of Blue

Laurel Brooke’s departure from Three Shades of Blue, a young trio of musicians under the tutelage of Scott Perry, came at the end of a concert at The Floyd Country Store on Saturday night.

Brooke, a senior at Floyd Country High School, is headed for college next year and is concentrating on other things as she embarks on what she calls he “next stage” of life.

Her departure leaves Jasper Richardson and Dylan Vest as the two remaining Shades and they will continue to play with Perry as a trio.  Both Richardson and Vest are accomplished guitarists but they will undoubtedly miss Brooke and her violin.

The Three Shades, along with The Wildmans and Gravel Road, are groups that represent the future of music in and around Floyd County.  They are talented musicians who broaden and enrich the music scene in an area where music is both a tradition and a heritage.

We hope to see Brooke and her violin on stage for future performances from time to time and wish her the best as she pursues an education.

The Three Shades of Blue were joined by Perry and bassist and sound man Joe Dejarnette on stage Saturday night at the concert.
