The Friday Night Old Time Band performing at an earlier Jamboree
Basketball season finale for Floyd County High School’s varsity boys and Mardi Gras at The Pine kick off weekend events Friday night.
The Buffaloes play arch-rival Radford at the FCHS gym and also host basketball homecoming. The JV game kicks off at 5:30pm and the varsity is scheduled for 7:00pm.
A Madi Gras themed fundraiser and tribute to the late Tom Ryan is featured at The Pine Tavern, starts at 7:00pm and runs until midnight. Spoon Fight, Time is Art and The Fatz are featured.
The Friday Night Jamboree opens at 6:30pm with Olin & Francis Gardner with Friends for the gospel hour, followed by The Friday Night Old Time Band at 7:30pm and The Snow Creek Old Time Band at 9:00 pm.
At Dogtown Roadhouse, Atoka Chase goes on stage at 8 p.m.
Saturday includes diverse music and events around the area:
Dave Fason & David Canaday kick off American Afternoon at the Floyd Country Store at noon, following by Bruce Scism at 1:15pm and Jim Patty, Duo at 2:20pm.
At Wildwood Farms General Store, Marshall Brothers and Highroad take the stage from 6:00 – 8:00pm.
The Floyd Country Store features a Valentines Dance with The New Ballards Bogrotters starting at 7:30pm.
Sunday is music jam day for both traditional and bluegrass performers.
Wildwood hosts a jam from 2 – 4 p.m. and The Floyd Country Store has old time jammers from 1:30 – 3:30pm and bluegrass from 4:00 – 6:00pm.
