The local hills are alive with the sound of music

Music, music, music.  It’s Mother’s Day weekend and the hills of Floyd County are alive with the sounds of tunes.

Saturday features Americana Afternoon at The Floyd Country Store with Big Mama Joy at noon, Seph & TK at 1:00 p.m. and Luke & Abbey With Laurel found out the afternoon at 2:00 pm.

Need more of 2 Young, 2 Old?  They follow their Friday Night Jamboree performance with a Saturday night show at 7 p.m. at Wildwood General Store.

The Whitetop Mountain Band leads an Old-Time Country Dance at The Country Store at 7:30 p.m., featuring the always irrepressible Martha Spencer.

Contra dancers gather at The Jacksonville Center at 8:00 pm.

Welcome to Hoonah plays at Dogtown at 8:00 p.m.

On Sunday, Oddfellas Cantina features BigMama for a Mother’s Day Brunch.

Music Jams run from 1:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Floyd Country Store and the 2nd Sunday Songwriter’s Circle gathers at Dogtown Roadhouse from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., followed by Open Mic.
