The candidates for contested races met to discus their positions on issues for the only one-on-one appearance in this election season for Floyd County races.

Not all candidates appeared, however. Burks Fork Supervisor contender Michael Schumann was a no-show, although he was on the schedule along with incumbent Joe Turman and Kerry Underwood. Retiring supervisor, a write-in for School Board in Little River, also did not appear, citing health problems.

Videos of full comments by all who appeared Thursday night at the community room of The Bank of Floyd will be posted on Blue Ridge Muse, starting with the Sheriff’s race on Monday.

The candidates forum was sponsored by the Floyd Tea Party.
