Just curious, Doug: what is the kilowatt hour rate that AEP charges? I pay .072 per kwh here in South Florida, along with a number of other charges and taxes.

I hope delegate Armstrong has a companion bill to provide free K-Y jelly to Virginia electric customers. We can use it to ease the pain in the you-know-where from what AEP is doing to us.

Tonight over 5500 hundred people in our area listened in on the phone town hall meeting by Delegate Ward Armstrong. He is still working for the people of VA to stop the rate hicks. We have to help stop the back door dealing that goes on in Washington. You can go to his website and sign the petition.

This law deals with all investor-owned utilities in Virginia, not just AEP. At least people won't be paying through the nose when their next bill arrives.

The Kingsport Times-News has a good story: http://www.timesnews.net/article.php?id=9020887

Its not a bad first step, at least now AEP can not just raise the rate to whatever they desire. Now they need to look at the way the SEC regulates public utilities.

This is what happens when the state elects a Robertson-ite Republican. I'm not sure Deeds would be much better, but I'm also pretty sure he would not be nearly as bad either.
