Basketball is better than politics

Photographing boys’ basketball tonight at the Floyd County High School gym.  Shot junior varsity boys and girls games there on Wednesday night.

Watched the Republican presidential nominees debate (if one can call it that with a straight face) Thursday night.  Two nights this week watching and photographing fun.  One night of wasted time.

Forget about politics.  Let’s talk about high school athletics, something that features hard-fought games.

When basketball season starts in Floyd County, a frequent question is heard: “Will the Lady Buffaloes go to state again this year.”

The Lady Buffs to to the state championship in Richmond a lot. They win state championships on a regular basis.  The lost in the state final last year to Wise County but they are almost always contenders when playoff time approaches.

Basketball Homecoming is on Wednesday next week in a match-up with district rival Glenvar.  As several games this year have proven, it will be a rough, brutal game.

See you tonight and again at Homecoming next week.

As for politics?  Forget ’em (that would be nice).
