Floyd County High School’s Ragan Wiseman led the Lady Buffaloes on an opening quarter tear with 17 points Monday night to put the Dan River Wildcats into a hole that kept getting deeper in an opening Regiona 2A West regional playoff game that ended in a 78-35 rout.

Wiseman finished the night with 32 points and every Lady Buffalo that played scored in the match before a capacity crowd at the FCHS gym.

The win cinches a spot in state playoffs as the Lady Buffs travel to UVa-Wise Wednesday night.

“This team is a step above anybody in our conference,” Dan River coach Pat Moore told Troy Server of The Roanoke Times.

Wiseman scored the first seven points of the game and the Lady Buffs led early 21-2.  Even when the coaches put in secondary players the scoring continued along with strong defense.

Ashley Gallimore scored 12 points for the night and the team controlled the game at the basket.

The Lady Buffs face Ridgeview at 7:45 a.m. at the arena at UVa-Wise and has a spot in the regional finals on Saturday.
