Got home late after filming entertaining tribute to Gordon Lightfoot at the Floyd Country Store — the third straight year of good shows aimed at the music of a legend in the music business.

Filmed the one two years ago for Bob Dylan but missed last year for John Prine.  Too bad.  I heard from several who said it was good.

Saturday night’s tribute to Gordon Lightfoot was a rousing evening of music.  Shot a lot of video and it will take time to edit it properly.

Had the pleasure to photograph and review two concerts by Lightfoot in the 1970s at the Mississippi River Festival.  His mixture of folk,, folk-rock and country delighted fans and he is still touring at age 77 after recovering from several battles with his health.

Robbie Robertson of The Band called Lightfoot “a national treasure” and Bob Dylan said that when he heard a Lightfoot song he wished “it would last forever.”

A large crowd greeted the tribute Saturday night and I hope to put together some video early next week to honor the evening.
