Leaving April with good music

The mind, someone once said, is the first thing to go.

Which, I guess, is why I forgot to post the video from Friday night’s music on South Locust Street and The Friday Night Jamboree.

I posted it on Vimeo, which is where most of my video work is displayed.  I posted on Facebook, but then I started out on an ill-fated motorcycle ride where I hoped to head down to Roanoke for the Saturday coffee and donuts with the Roanoke Valley Harley Owners Group.

Ill-fated because the fog, already handing over Sandy Flats Road when I started out, got thicker and wetter as the Harley and I headed north towards Roanoke.  I turned around a Check and headed back home.

Visibility was too limited for a good ride.

We need the rain but the sloppy Saturday was hard to swallow after the great weather on Friday. Nick Piazza and I took an enjoyable trip from Floyd, through Radford, Dublin, Pulaski, Max Meadows and Wytheville before heading South on Route 21, through part of the Mount Rogers Recreational Area and then on to Independence and U.S. 221 back through Galax, Hillsville and on to Floyd.

Good ride on a good day with a good friend and riding partner.

Had a lot of fun shooting the music Friday night.  Managed the short video above.  May have another one from the footage.

Looks like a crappy night out there.  I’m staying in.
