Spent a delightful late afternoon and early evening watching veterans learn guitar and play music at the Veterans Medical Center in Salem with Floyd guitarist and teacher Bernie Coveney helping those who have served our country learn the ins and outs of the instrument.

Coveney has been working with the VA to help use music as vital therapy to those who are recovering from post traumatic stress syndrome (PTSD) and other afflictions that are a result of their military service.

The Guitars 4 Vets program is in its third year at the Salem Center and is active in other such medical facilities around the nation.

More photos and more on the story in next week’s Floyd Press.
