A busy weekend coming up

School started Thursday (yes, we know it is not even the middle of August yet) and summertime activities remain.  It’s not even Labor Day yet.

Let’s start with Thursday:  The Commons appears at The Hotel Floyd Concert Season at their pavilion, starting at 6 pm.

Friday, August 12

Floyd Artisan Market at the Community Market Pavilion, 205 S. Locust Street. 5-9 pm.

The Friday Night Jamboree at The Country Store, Olen & Frances Gardner with Friends at the gospel hour at 6:30 pm, followed by Sophie & The Boys at 7:30 and 9 pm.

The Judy Chops hit the stage at Dogtown Roadhouse, 302 S. Locust St., 8 pm.

Saturday, August 13

Floyd Farmers Market, Community Pavilion, 205 S. Locust St., 9 am – 1 pm.

Farm Tour and Tastings, Riverstone Organic Farm, 708 Thompson Farm Road. 10 am – 3 pm

Black Dog Beach Festival, Chateau Morrisette Winery, festival field, 3641 Black Ridge Rd. 11:3o am – 5 pm.

Americana Afternoon at The Floyd Country Store, 206 S. Locust St.. Jim Crandall at noon, The Zulu Welsh Bank at 1 pm and Mim’s Ukes at 2:30 pm.

Second Saturday Music Series with Gabe Morales, Foggy Ridge Cider, 1328 Pineview Rd, Dugspur, 1-4 pm.

Jacksonville Center for The Arts Exhibition Opening, 220 Parkway Lane S., 5-7 pm.

Stars on the Mountain, Chantilly Farm, 2697 Franklin Pike, 5-10 pm

Piedmont Natural Grass, Wildwood Farms General Store, 2380 Floyd Hwy S., 7-9 pm.
