Quiet life in the country? Yeah, right.

Quiet life in the country?

No way.

Saturday in Floyd County — with storm crowds and thunder threatening through most of the day and into the evening — brough a tsunami of events that kept residents wondering which ones to attend and those of us who try to record life around here hopping to and fro.

The annual Antique Tractor Fun Run dominated a schedule that also included the 2nd Annual Rubber Duck Race on the Little River, an Auto Fair at Chantilly Farms, the Paws Cause dinner and event at the Eco -Village and a benefit football game between the Floyd County High School Buffaloes and the Bassett Eagles that was postponed because of rain from Friday night.

That wasn’t all.  We also had the “normal” events like the Farmers Market on S. Locust Street, Americana Afternoon at The Floyd Country Store, bluegrass music at Wildwood General Store and more.

Quiet town?

Many more photos from as many of the events that I and Wanda Combs could cover will appear in the next edition of the Floyd Press.
