Labor Day 2016 is upon us, complete with the massive Hillsville Flea Market & Gun Show, which kicks off at 8 a.m. Friday and Premier of Season 6 of The Floyd Radio Show Saturday night at The Country Store, along with yard sales galore and more.
The Flea Market & Gun Show is the area’s landmark event for the Labor Day weekend and is also the center of a string of yard sales that line the roads throughout the area for what is considered the end-of-summer holiday weekend.
In Floyd, we have Yoga Jam, which kicks off on Friday at noon Friday at 5555 Indian Valley Road near Willis and runs through Sunday.
Floyd Artists Association celebrates First Friday at the their gallery in The Station at 203 S. Locust St. from 5-8 p.m.
The Floyd Artisan Market also runs from 5-9 p.m. at the Community Market Pavilon at 205 S. Locust Street.
Street artists perform along Locust Street throughout Friday evening.
The Friday Night Jamboree starts at 6:30 p.m. at The Country Store, 206 S. Locust St. with Janet Turner & Friends, followed by The Friday Night Old Time Band at 7:30 p.m. through 10:30 p.m.
Floyd County High School’s Varsity Buffaloes, coming off a strong win against Hillsville in the season opener, hosts Patrick County at 7 p.m. at home.
Ripejive takes the stage at Dogtown Roadhouse, 302 S. Locust at 8 p.m.
