We head into a weekend of great weather and lots of things to do here in September.

The popular young musical group The Wildmans get things started Thursday with a concert at The Hotel Floyd Pavilion from 6 to 8 p.m. 300 Rick Lewis Way SE.

Friday, September 8

081714carshow4Classic Volkswagen Bus owners and fans gather at Chantilly Farm, 2697 Franklin Pike.  The event runs through Sunday.

Joy Jammers Mixed Age Heart of the Child Music Education Class at The Floyd Country Store, 206 S. Locust St., 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.

Visitor Day at Spikenard Farm Honeybee Santuary, 401 Hideaway Lane, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Jax at the Hotel Floyd Art Opening Reception, 300 Rick Lewis Way SE, 5-7 p.m.

Floyd Artisan Market, Community Market Pavilion, 205 S. Locust St. 5-9 p.m.

The Friday Night Jamboree at The Floyd County Store, 206 S. Locust St., kicks off at 6:30 p.m. with Olen & Frances Gardner for the Gospel Hour, followed by The Crooked Road Ramblers from 7:30 through 10:30 p.m.

Dogtown Roadhouse features the Morgan Wade Band and Will Overman Band from 8 p.m. to 11:30 at 302 S. Locust St.

Music on South Locust Street throughout the evening.

Saturday, September 10

The Classic VW Bus Rally & Campout continues at Chantilly Farm, 2697 Franklin Pike.

Floyd Farmers Market, Community Pavilion, 205 S. Locust, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Floyd County Historical Society’s Radford Arsenal Program at The Jacksonville Center for the Arts, 220 Parkway Ln South, 11 a.m. until noon.

Farm Rour and Tastings at Riverstone Organic Farm, 708 Thompson Farm Rd SE, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Fall Orchard Walk at Foggy Ridge Cider, 1328 Pineview Rd, Dugspur, 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Americana Afternoon at The Floyd Country Store, 206 S. Locust, begins at noon with Carrie Hinkley & Virginia Hollow, followed by Nii Anang at 1:15 p.m. and Jeff Liverman at 2:30 p.m.

High Noon for Hope, 3418 Black Ridge Road, with Joe Mullins & The Radio Ramblers,  3:30 to 8 p.m.

The Southern Gentlemen on stage at Wildwood Farms General Store, 2380 Floyd Hwy S. from 7 to 9 p.m.

Old Time Dance with the Slate Mountain Ramblers, Floyd Country Store, 206 S. Locust, 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Open Mic, Dogtown, 6 – 1o p.m.
