Yes, it is cold outside.
Cold. Very cold. Damn cold.

We finally fired up our heating system last night. Good thing. The thermometer sits at a degree below 20 on our back porch this morning.

Guess winter is rapidly approaching

Looks like adding anti-gel and winter supplement to the tractor Saturday afternoon.  Will probably put it to the test this Sunday afternoon on some projects neglected too long around the house after a busy fall photographing football and volleyball, covering court and our county government and dealing with the other things that go on this time of year.

An often-delayed jury trial is on hand in Floyd County Circuit Court this Tuesday, assuming it is not continued again.

Floyd County’s Board of Supervisors put their normally scheduled two meetings of the month into just one for November, meeting Thursday of next week at the county administration building.  We may see some discussion of the firing of school superintendent Kevin Harris during the public comment at that meeting that begins at 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 17.

Basketball season is coming upon us fast.  Dan River wiped out the Floyd County Buffaloes 45-0 Friday night in regional playoff competition, ending post-season.  Middle school basketball kicks off at Floyd County High School’s old gym on Wednesday and the boys and girls varsity and JV teams head for George Wythe High School next weekend for a jamboree event.

Girls varsity basketballers are scheduled to meet Lord Botetourt in the Floyd County High School gym on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and the boys JV and Varsity teams meet Auburn in their gym on Wednesday.

Ten days to go before Thanksgiving, followed by the debacle called “Black Friday” and the even bigger chaos called the Christmas season.

Where does the time go?
