A busy musical night at the Jamboree

112516jamboree-3The Friday after Thanksgiving is not just Black Friday but also a busy night at Floyd’s iconic Friday Night Jamboree.

With relatives and other visitors here in the Blue Ridge Mountains, the capacity crowd at the town’s weekly premier music event brought in a lot of new faces to dance to bands like The County Connection, a bluegrass favorite.

It was, to borrow an old but useful cliche, a good time had by all.

Floyd’s post-Thanksgiving offerings include Sunday’s Christmas Parade that runs along South Locust Street and North Main Street, starting at 3 p.m. and Saturday includes musical offerings featuring Danny Knicely’s Musical Feast at The Country Store and The Hackensaw Boys Dogtown Roadhouse.

The 16 Hands Studio Tour is also underway at various studio locations about the county and more information and locations are at their web site.

Our best wishes to all for a happy and safe Thanksgiving weekend.

The shots here are video stills from filming Friday night.  We’re working on a clip that we hope will be posted by Sunday morning.

We also hope to be shooting video Sunday at the Parade and throughout the upcoming Christmas season.

Let the fun begin.
