Little Diva & The G-Strings
Floyd is well known not only for bluegrass music but there is a talented community of blues musicians and singers as well. Like Sally Walker, the "Little Diva" of "Little Diva and the G-Strings." Here’s a video of her and the band performing at Floyd’s recent Spring Into Summer Festival.

The afternoon thunderstorm soaked parts of Floyd County Wednesday but other sections remained dry. We heard the thunder at the studio but no rain fell. As I drove home in the early evening, the evidence of heavy rain increased but by then the sun was out with the light playing off the wetness.
I stopped along Harvestwood Road and found this rapidly disappearing evidence of recent rain set against the setting sun.
Hark! What light through yonder tree shines?

Friday Night Jamboree
In 2002 and 2003, Amy and I worked on a documentary about Floyd’s famous Friday Night Jamboree. We were still living in Arlington and started filming on Labor Day weekend, 2002. Unfortunately, it rained that Friday night and we couldn’t get any outdoor shots. And it rained on the the four Friday nights afterwards that [...]
