Chuck and Darlene Banks drove long hours for three days from their home in Eugene, Oregon, to FloydFest this year, using tickets given to them as a wedding present.

“This is our first time,” Darlene said as the couple posed for a photo in front of the “Love” sign near the festival’s entrance. “We’re sure it will be great.”

FloydFest X opened its four days of music, crafts, food and more Thursday amid record ticket sales and high expectations for the best year yet in the event’s 10 year entrance.

With Saturday a sellout, camping areas overflowing and long lines of cars heading into parking areas, those expectations appear more than justified.
