Busy all weekend moving my political news web site, Capitol Hill Blue, to new servers with a new content management system (WordPress).
CHB has been online since October 1, 1994, making it the oldest political news site on the Internet, and the sheer volume of articles from more than a dozen years on the web slows down a lot of content systems. I have been using Movable Type in recent months after several years with Article Manager. Both, however, depend largely on outdated technology (AM on server-side-includes and shtml files; MT on Perl) while WordPress uses php and is a lot faster.
What is not fast, however, is transferring more than 75 gigabytes of legacy files and images.
I need a nap.
