No, not Keifer Sutherland saving the world. Our generator has been generating for 24 hours straight, providing us with power while all those around us are dark.

AEP reports 4,800 homes without power in and around Floyd. They’ve managed to restore only about 200 homes since 2 p.m. today and they don’t expect to have power restored to all homes until about 6 p.m. Friday.

Our propane tank shows 80 percent capacity remaining so we should be all right until power is restored as long as the generator can keep pumping out 16kw of power for the next couple of days.

Fellow bloggers Fred First and David St. Lawrence are offline. Both lost power Tuesday night as well. I’m sure they will have stories to tell when the power comes back.
