You often find Floyd County musicians in strange venues.

Wander into Due South barbeque restaurant on Roanoke Street in Christiansburg on a Tuesday evening and you will find Bernie Coveney and Chris Luster performing amid the chatter, din and noise from the ice machine.

Amy and I decided to enjoy some barbeque and music last week.  We arrived early and didn’t see two of our favorite area musicians so we asked if they had music that night.  The girl behind the counter said she didn’t normally work on Tuesdays and asked another, who replied: “Yeah, we do. Some guy with a ponytail and the old guy.”

Yeah, right. Some guy with a ponytail and the old guy make good music.
