When the Roll is Called Up Yonder

Maybe it’s age. At 64, I start thinking about things like judgment day. Maybe it’s nostalgia. My grandmother used to sing this song. But the performance Saturday night of “When the Roll is Called Up Yonder” by Wytheville’s Leigh Beamer in the Floyd Radio Show struck a chord — so to speak.

  1. Doug,

We must make absolutely sure when the role is “Called Up Yonder” our name will be called because it is written in the Book Of Life to all who accept Jesus Christ as their Savior.

We are living in the last days Jesus told his disciples about in Matthew 24:3, “And he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and the end of the world?” The signs of the last days described in Revelation are happening NOW! A terrible apostasy (denying the deity of Jesus Christ as the Son of God), wars and rumors of wars, the terrible increase of the commotion of the elements: tsunamis, earthquakes, hurricanes, tornados, etc. The society we are living in today is teaching there is no difference between good and evil, no difference between black and white, if it feels good do it and it is being taught to our children resulting in our prisons filling up. Accepting the salvation Jesus Christ is the only hope we have that when the role is called in heaven our name will be there to inherit internal life! The forgiveness of our sins was paid for by His blood He shed on the cross that covers our sins. Society’s Only Hope!

    Fred Gerald
