Not much of a snow storm

As winter storms go, the short snow shower that fell on Floyd County and other parts of Southwestern Virginia wasn’t much.  Large, wet flakes for a while and then it was gone. Near-freezing temperatures meant ice on some bridges and slick conditions for a while but we’ve seen worse.

By Friday, the thermometer will climb back into the 50s before a cold weekend sets in. Then warmer weather returns once again next week.

This is winter?
