Four-year-old Chance Harman, son of Floyd County High School boys' basketball coach Brian Harman, lost his long battle with brain cancer Friday, dying at Duke Medical Center.

Four-year-old Chance Harman, son of Floyd County High School boys’ basketball coach Brian Harman, lost his long battle with brain cancer Friday, dying at Duke Medical Center.

His final days left the young man racked with pain and death was most likely a relief for the youngster who fought so bravely. He is the second local youngster to lose his life to the same rare form of brain cancer in recent months. Joshua Cantrell, also four, was the grandson of FCHS girls’ basketball coach Alan Cantrell.

Someone needs to tell WDBJ, Channel 7, in Roanoke that Chance is from Floyd, not Franklin, County. The station kicked off its 11 p.m. newscast Friday night by saying young Chance was a "Franklin County" boy.
