Scott Perry's Back Porch Concert Series at his Picking Porch on Willis Street in Floyd is a staple of Floyd's music scene.

I've been trying to get to one of his concerts for more than two years now but schedule conflicts or weather have always sidelined the attempts but no conflicts got in the way Friday for a concert by Front Porch Swing, a new group of Scott's that blends blues, country, swing and Gershwin (among others).  The group includes steel guitar by Bill Adams and standup base by Bob Thomas.

Those who ventured over to Willis Street got an eclectic mix of excellent music along with Perry's banter about life as a musician in Floyd. It made for an enjoyable evening.
