Time for a break

After three years of covering FloydFest from start to finish, I need a break.

This year’s festival took a lot out of me, starting with a run-in with the Blue Ridge Parkway’s Gestapo-like Criminal Interdiction Team (CIT) on the event’s first day.

I’m tired and after reading my story in Thursday’s Floyd Press I realize I need a break. The story, in retrospect, concentrated too much on the negative and overlooked some of the many positive things about the event that has become an asset to the community.

So I’ve asked Press editor Wanda Combs to find someone else to cover FloydFest next year and possibly the year after. I need time to rest and refocus.

Catch you on the flip side.
