Spoiler

Rain spoiled the home opener for Floyd County High School's varsity football team Friday and then George Wythe spoiled the rescheduled game Saturday night.

The Buffaloes jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first quarter and held that lead at halftime. But George Wythe came back with 15 points the second half. Floyd tied it and forced an overtime but GW scored for an end result of 21-15. Still, at 2-1, the FCHS is off to a good start, thanks to strong performances by team members like Travis Bolt (above). Disclosure alert: Bolt is the photographer's nephew.
