Picked up my latest tool: a shiny new MacBook Pro laptop with a 2.4Ghz Intel dual core processor, 200GB hard drive and 4GB of memory.
Yes, I’m a Mac snob. For serious photography and videography, there simply isn’t any other choice. Photoshop was originally developed for the Mac and still runs best on the platform. Editing photos in CS3 is a breeze. Final Cut Studio, Apple’s professional video editing suite, runs like a charm on the unit.
The only disadvantage I’ve found is Mac envy from others when using the laptop in public. While taking advantage of Cafe del Sol’s wi-fi in Floyd I had to stop several times to answer questions about the unit. The bright, widescreen display attracts a lot of attention and I got of lot of "God, I wish I had one" from other Mac users at the cafe.
Computer Pros on Brambleton Avenue in Roanoke is the only authorized Mac dealer in Southwestern Virginia. They are knowledgable about Apple products, competititve in their prices and great to work with. Recommend them highly.
