The young man on the stage of The Floyd Country Store Saturday night is, without a doubt, the youngest member of the venerable bluegrass band, Lost and Found.
He’s also the grandson of bass player Allen Mills (right), the sole original member of the band following the death of Dempsey Young last year.
The kid was a trouper, strumming and singing along with the band throughout the concert.
The Saturday concert is part of a series of traditional music events planned at the store in addition to the regular Friday Night Jamboree. Local musicians Bernie Coveney, Mike Mitchell, Chris Luster and Abe Goorskey opened for the band with a mixture of old and new turns including original compositions from Coveney’s upcoming CD, Whispering Pines.
Next up is Wayne Henderson on December 15.
