Bent Mountain Fire Chief Tim Worrell needs your help. A firefighter for 31 years, Worrell is battling esophageal cancer and the department is hosting a fundraiser and benefit bike ride Saturday, August 18.
Tim is a fellow member of the Roanoke Valley Harley Owners Group.
Registration starts at 10 a.m. at the Fire Station on U.S. 221 and first bike out at 11:30 a.m.
And remember that next weekend, Floyd County Fire Department Station 1 is holding a Bike and Car Cruise at the Floyd Auto Fair on August 25. Proceeds go to help the department.
Registration starts at 9 a.m. at the Auto Fair at Chantilly Farms on Franklin Pike with first bike out at 11 a.m. Entry is a $10 minimum and food can be purchased from the vendors at the Auto Fair.
