Floyd County High Schools Buffaloes drew perennial powerhouse Christiansburg yet again for the team’s season opener on the road Friday night but the scrappy Buffs played tough, matching the Blue Demons in the first half and piling up 21 points in a game that some predicted would be a blowout.
An interception late in the first half stopped momentum by the Buffaloes and Christiansburg took the game 35-21.
A respectable showing, however, for Floyd County. More photos and Roger Mannon’s story in next week’s Floyd Press.
