Friends will remember and honor Tom Ryan Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at Gardner Funeral Home in Floyd, followed by a short service, before moving to Dogtown Roadhouse for an evening of zydeco music and celebration of his life.
Tom died of a massive heart attack Saturday, ending a notable life of presence and impact on the community. He lived life to the fullest and made a name for himself as a one-time co-0wner of Harvest Moon, a popular bartender at Pine Tavern and proprietor of The Republic of Floyd.
His sharp wit delighted reader of The Enquirer via email and on the web and his booking of musical acts delivered solid entertainment to the area. He worked through the Chamber of Commerce to promote tourism and recognition of Floyd and its many offerings.
His passing leaves a hole in the community and in our lives. He will be missed.
