Power outages in Floyd County stands at 1,175

122712powerAppalachian Power crews, aided by crews from other utilities, restored power to more than 200 Floyd County customers Saturday night, reducing the power outages from 1,423 to 1,175 by 7:30 a.m. today.

The company still estimates that power will not be restored to all county until Tuesday night.

APCO says the rough terrain of the area slows power restoration.

As of this morning, the 1,175 customers in the dark in Floyd County is more than the entire power outages remaining in West Virginia.  In Virginia, APCO still has 27,491 customers without electricity.
