Another win by the Lady Buffs

013013bsketball3013012basketball1Senior night for the Floyd County Lady Buffs varsity basketball team ended with a normal outcome for the winning squad — a 75-33 victory over Auburn.

For the Lady Buffs it was a typical, hard-fought game with many steals, 15 points and three three-pointers from Emily Boothe, 13 points from Hannah Belshan and eight steals by Christine Phillips.

The team faces Radford in an away game Friday night and Giles on the road next week and is destined for post-season tournament play — business as usual for the girls.

For me, the game was a welcome return to sports photography after many weeks of recovery from last fall’s motorcycle accident.  With luck and further recovery I can make it to the remaining games in both the boys and girls basketball season and return to the swing of things.

My thanks to the many people who came up and welcomed me back to the action Wednesday night.  See you at future games.

More photos in next week’s Floyd Press.
