Floyd County High School’s Lady Buffaloes varsity basketball team are headed for Richmond next week as one of Final Four in the Region C Division 2 state tournament.

The Lady Buffs made the grade with a 74-44 pasting of Gate City in the state quarterfinals at Salem Civic Center Friday night.  The team took the lead early and never looked back, opening the game up significantly in the third and fourth quarters, often leading by more than 40 points.

Next stop: The Seigel Center at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond for the semi-final game at 10:30 a.m. Friday of next week and — with luck and skill — the final game at 3 p.m. Saturday.
