After trailing by four points at the end of the first quarter, Floyd County High School’s Lady Buffs opened up an 11 point lead over Central High School of Wise at the end of the first half and went on to win the game, 72-62 by wearing down the opposition and dominating the floor.
The win gives the team a State Championship.
Amanda Hollandsworth led Floyd’s scoring with 26 points and 10 rebounds. Christine Phillips had 19 points and the team controlled the second half. This the fourth state championship for the Lady Buffs.
More photos and Roger Mannon’s complete coverage of the tournament in next Thursday’s Floyd Press.

Doug-Can you give me an update? I was watching on PlayOnSports and lost the feed-it was 3rd quarter, Lady Buffs ahead by 13 last I knew…
Way to go Lady Buffalos! What a splendid accomplishment! The whole county is proud of you!
