Early morning on the Potomac River near Ronald Reagan National Airport across from Washington. The rising sun sends a shaft of light over a duck swimming against the current.
I’ve probably shot more than 10,000 images in and around Washington over the past 23 years. Early morning ranks as one of my favorite times of the day. The hustle and bustle that marks the National Capital Region has not taken over yet and there is a serenity that exists at no other time. I’ve spent many an early morning along the banks of the Potomac, waiting for the sun to rise and the day to begin.
This we will miss most when we leave the area. Not so the rest of the day.
