How many rural schools can claim two state championship teams and two individual championship in just six months?
Floyd can and all those state champs were female.
The Lady Buffs varsity basketball team took the state crown in Richmond in March. About the same time, Kaitlyn Haynes won a state championship in wrestling. Chandra Goodsen took the 800-meter track win at the state finals in Radford recently and the girls’ softball team won the state championship this past weekend.
