Heavy rains and widespread flooding means at least a delayed Fourth of July for many.  The holiday fireworks show for Floyd County is postponed until Saturday, Route 615 (Christiansburg Pike) is closed with downed trees and flooding and several roads in the county are blocked by flooding.

The torrential rains, expected to continue today, have washed out driveways, left basements and crawl spaces flooded and caused power outages in the area.

So much for Independence Day.
