081313schoolbusHow did the first day of school go on Tuesday?

“We got everyone there safely,” Floyd County School Superintendent Dr. Kevin Harris told the Floyd County Board of Supervisors Tuesday morning.  “Everyone showed up that was supposed to.  We’re off to a good start.”

Students returned to school to start the new year early this year — August 13.  The school schedule has a lot of snow days built in and — is snow doesn’t require a lot of closures, the holiday and Spring breaks could be longer.
