Close, oh, so close, but Floyd loses to Glenvar 26-25

101813footballFloyd County High School’s varsity football team came as close as possible to winning their second game of the season at Friday night’s clash but fell one point short: 26-25.

Two blocked point-after attempts and a failed two-point conversion didn’t help as Glenvar capitalized on turnovers and other mistakes to spoil a homecoming game for the Buffaloes.

The Buffs lead at haltime then to score on the opening possession and appeared to be in control of the game but Glenvar took the one-point lead in the fourth quarter and held to take the win.  The loss puts the Buffaloes at 1-7 so far for the season with no district wins.
