Floyd County High School’s Buffaloes varsity football team gave Coach Winfred Beale his 200th career victory as coach Friday night with a 42-14 demolition of the Eastern Montgomery Mustangs before a small but enthusiastic home crowd.
Floyd jumped into an early lead 6-0 with a touchdown but missed extra point then fell behind 7-6 when the kickoff following the touchdown was returned by EastMont along a successful PAT, but the Buffloes took control of the game with two touchdowns and successful extra points in the second quarter to head into the locker room at halftime with a 20-7 lead.
Floyd added 20 more points in the third quarter and a late fourth quarter touchdown by EastMont did little to change the outcome. The Buffaloes head into the final two games of the season with a 2-6 overall record and 1-3 in the district.
Congratulations to Coach Beale for reaching his 200th victory as a high school football coach.

Way to go for the “little man with the big voice.”
Congratulations to Winfred Beale! 200 wins doesn’t tell the entire story. Coach Beale has inspired students for nearly forty years and the 200 wins are a result of tireless dedication. During his years at FCHS, he has been through lots of ups and downs and stayed the course. I am proud I was able to coach with this unforgettable man. Coach Winfred Beale, as good as it gets. Great Coach, better person. I am proud of you.
