The thermometer on our back porch reads 20 degrees this morning, which may be a record low for the date.

Baby, it’s cold outside.

With the first real chills of winter arriving in October, it is beginning to look like the prediction of the Farmers’ Almanac may be correct in predicting a frigid, brutal winter.

But next week’s forecast shows a return on temperatures in the 50s and 60s and nighttime lows above freezing, so predicting the weather continues to be a guessing game.

But winter is definitely coming.
